Saudi Arabia has recorded an 89 percent improvement in latency rates across some of its most popular electronic games, marking a significant enhancement in digital service quality and gaming performance, according to the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST).
The findings were published in the fifth edition of CST’s “Saudi Internet” report, which highlighted the Kingdom’s continued progress in strengthening its digital infrastructure. Several widely played titles recorded notably low latency, with Teamfight Tactics and League of Legends reaching 11 milliseconds, while Mobile Legends recorded 12 milliseconds.
Smart devices remained the leading electronic games platform, accounting for 22.1 percent of usage, narrowly ahead of PlayStation at 21.8 percent.
Weekly Electronic Games Leads Usage Patterns
The report also examined electronic games frequency among users. Weekly gaming emerged as the most common pattern, representing 32.1 percent of activity. This was followed by intermittent gaming at 31 percent, while 29.2 percent of users reported gaming daily.
The figures underscore the growing role of reliable, low-latency connectivity in supporting Saudi Arabia’s expanding digital entertainment ecosystem.
IoT Adoption Continues to Expand
Beyond electronic games , Saudi Arabia’s Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem also recorded substantial growth. The number of IoT subscriptions reached 13.85 million, highlighting increasing connectivity between devices across homes, businesses and other environments.
Urban population coverage through Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) technology reached approximately 99 percent, supported by a network of more than 30,000 towers. Meanwhile, IoT adoption in homes stood at 18 percent.
These developments point to the Kingdom’s growing capacity to support applications that depend on continuous connectivity and device-to-device communication.
Strong Global Digital Position
The report further highlighted Saudi Arabia’s international progress in digital infrastructure and readiness. The Kingdom ranked first globally in the International Telecommunication Union’s 2025 Digital Readiness Index, reinforcing its position as a leading digital market.
The latest indicators demonstrate the country’s expanding ability to accommodate rising internet demand while supporting emerging technologies, connected devices and increasingly data-intensive digital services.
