Emirates flights from Dubai to Bahrain and Kuwait remain suspended, even as fellow Gulf carriers Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways have resumed services following weeks of disruption linked to the regional conflict.
Emirates had earlier announced that flights to the two destinations would remain suspended until at least August 6. However, no Emirates-operated services to Bahrain or Kuwait were listed for August 9 or 10 at the time of reporting.
Before the disruption, Emirates operated three daily flights to Bahrain — EK835, EK837 and EK839 — and four daily services to Kuwait, including EK853, EK855, EK857 and EK859. The airline notes that its website only displays Emirates-operated flights, with passengers advised to check partner airlines separately for codeshare connections.
Emirates Etihad and Qatar Airways Resume Flights
Etihad Airways has restarted services to both destinations from Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport. From August 8, the airline listed one daily flight to Kuwait and four weekly services to Bahrain.
Flight EY653 to Kuwait is scheduled to depart Abu Dhabi at 8.25am daily, while EY643 to Bahrain operates at 3.40pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Other UAE carriers, including flydubai and Air Arabia, continue to serve Bahrain and Kuwait, although some flights remain vulnerable to cancellations.
Qatar Airways has also resumed daily flights to Bahrain, Kuwait and Erbil from August 8. The airline has maintained services between Doha and the UAE throughout the latest disruption, including flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
Regional Airspace Disruptions Continue
Travel disruptions extend beyond Gulf-based airlines as carriers continue to navigate security concerns, airspace restrictions and uncertainty across the region.
Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways continue to operate multiple daily flights between Kuwait and Dubai and Abu Dhabi, while Bahrain’s Gulf Air maintains services to both UAE cities.
International airlines have also revised their schedules. British Airways has delayed the resumption of flights to Dubai, Bahrain and Amman until October 25, while operating a reduced schedule to Doha and Riyadh. KLM has suspended flights to Dubai, Riyadh and Dammam until August 23, citing its continued avoidance of airspace over Iran, Iraq, Israel and parts of the Arabian Gulf.
Lufthansa Group carriers, including Lufthansa and Swiss, have also adjusted Middle East schedules, while Air France has temporarily suspended flights to Saudi Arabia.
Although hopes of de-escalation have increased, continuing tensions between the US and Iran are keeping regional aviation operations under close review.
