Manchester City has announced a series of travel and transport improvements for supporters heading to the Etihad Stadium during the 2026/27 season, including 12 new Matchday Bus stops and a new Park and Ride option.
The Manchester City Matchday Bus service will return for the new campaign with 91 stops available from the start of the season. The new locations cover Carrington, Chorlton, East Didsbury, Flixton Village, Guide Bridge, Littleborough, Marple Station, Partington, Prestwich, Reddish, Stockport Grand Central and Whalley Range.
Meanwhile, several stops have been removed from the network. These include Booth Street West, Central Park and Piccadilly Rail Station, along with the Booth Street West Park and Ride facility. The club said the revised network has been designed to keep stops close to other public transport connections, allowing supporters to continue their journeys by bus, rail or tram where required.
Etihad Stadium 2026/27 Travel Update:
For fans travelling by car, Season Ticket Members will be able to reserve Etihad Stadium parking from 10 days before a fixture. Any remaining spaces will then become available to match-by-match purchasers 24 hours later. Parking will operate on a first-come, first-served basis, with one space permitted per supporter.
A new Park and Ride service will also operate from Co-op Academy Belle Vue, providing another option for matchday travel.
There will also be changes to city-centre and Ashton shuttle services following matches. Strict post-match road closures on Ashton New Road mean buses will not be able to depart until the road reopens, which is expected to be around 25 minutes after the final whistle.
Seven buses will operate to Manchester city centre from Ashton New Road, while six will depart from Alan Turing Way, north of its junction with Ashton New Road, operating on a load-and-go basis. Two buses will run towards Ashton from the lay-by beside the Velopark Metrolink stop, departing once full.
Roadworks also remain ongoing on Alan Turing Way, where a northbound closure is in place between Ashton Old Road and Ashton New Road.
Matchday buses using Connell College will drop supporters at the lay-by beside Joie Stadium before the match, then move to the college. For return journeys, supporters should head to Connell College rather than the stadium lay-by.
