Despite facing immense hardships—including working at a bakery for just $50 a month to support his family—Mahmud was determined to build a better future. He pursued a computer science degree through a free university, completed online courses via scholarships, and attended a coding
boot camp to prepare himself as a junior software engineer. However, due to legal restrictions in Lebanon and companies’ preference for mid-to-senior-level talent, Mahmud struggled to find a job in tech.
