Muhammad Yasir :exciting trends in architecture and design are shaping the future of the industry

Teaching is considered one of the noblest professions in the world. Rightly so, because it is not just about completing the given syllabus but about ensuring that human values and righteous thoughts are passed on from generation to generation.

2018: Entry into Architecture Design after graduation

I began my journey in architecture design, motivated by a passion for creating functional and aesthetically pleasing structures. During studying Architecture, I gained foundational knowledge in design principles, sustainability, and material science. My early projects involved conceptual designs for residential spaces, emphasizing user experience and environmental impact.

2019: Practical Experience

I secured an internship at a local architecture firm, where I had the opportunity to work on various projects, including commercial buildings and public spaces. During this time, I learned essential software tools like AutoCAD and Revit, and I began to understand the intricacies of zoning laws, building codes, and client interactions. This hands-on experience was invaluable in applying theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges.

2020: Design Innovation

I joined a mid-sized firm as a junior architect. Here, I was involved in a major urban redevelopment project, which required innovative design solutions to integrate green spaces within a dense urban environment. I focused on creating sustainable designs, incorporating renewable materials and energy-efficient systems. This project deepened my appreciation for community-focused architecture and the role it plays in enhancing urban living.

2021: Expanding Skill Set

As I progressed in my role, I took on more responsibility in the design process, leading teams and design reviews. I also began to experiment with 3D modeling and visualization techniques to communicate design ideas more effectively to clients and stakeholders.

2022: Leadership in Design

I was promoted to a project lead position, where I oversaw multiple design projects from inception to completion. I focused on integrating technology in the design process, utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) for better collaboration and efficiency. I also placed a strong emphasis on user-centered design, conducting workshops to engage clients and communities in the design process.

2023-2024: Current Role and Vision

Currently, I work as a senior architect, where I lead a team in delivering innovative architectural solutions. My focus is on sustainable design practices and the integration of smart design. I am passionate about creating spaces that promote well-being and community interaction. I also mentor junior architects, sharing insights on contemporary design trends and best practices in architecture.

My journey in architecture design since 2018 has been characterized by continuous growth, creativity, and a commitment to sustainable and user-centered practices. Each experience has shaped my approach to design, allowing me to contribute meaningfully to the built environment.

  1. What is that one quote you absolutely live by or find helpful?

One quote that I find particularly inspiring is:
“Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.” — Albert Schweitzer This quote reminds me that passion and fulfilment are essential for achieving true success. When you genuinely enjoy what you do, it not only enhances your motivation but also leads to meaningful contributions and accomplishments. It encourages a positive outlook and reinforces the importance of aligning your work with your values and interests.
