Salik Company, operator of Dubai’s road toll gates, has renewed its strategic partnership with US-based tolling technology provider TransCore for another five years, reinforcing a long-standing collaboration focused on advancing the efficiency, reliability and technological capabilities of Dubai’s tolling infrastructure.
The agreement was signed by Ibrahim Al Haddad, CEO of Salik, and Whitt Hall, CEO of TransCore, in the presence of Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of Salik’s Board of Directors, along with senior officials from both companies.
AI and Digital Innovation in Focus
The renewed partnership will support the continued development of the systems and technologies underpinning Salik’s tolling operations. It will also explore the deployment of artificial intelligence and advanced digital solutions to improve operational efficiency, system performance and readiness for the evolving demands of Dubai’s smart mobility ecosystem.
Beyond tolling, the collaboration is expected to strengthen Salik’s capabilities as an integrated payment platform. This could enable the company to expand its applications across a wider range of mobility services, including parking payments and other existing and future offerings.
Ibrahim Al Haddad said the renewed agreement builds on a relationship rooted in technical expertise, innovation and collaboration. He highlighted the role of AI, advanced technologies and digital solutions in enhancing Salik’s operational performance and preparing its infrastructure for future requirements.
Stronger Governance and Resilience
TransCore CEO Whitt Hall said the company remains committed to building on the partnership’s achievements and applying its technological expertise to support Dubai’s ambition for an advanced, smart and sustainable mobility ecosystem.
While the renewed agreement does not materially change the expected financial impact, Salik is projected to maintain annual operating expenses broadly in line with the previous contract, at approximately 5% to 5.5% of total annual revenues.
The new contract introduces enhanced contractual, operational and regulatory provisions covering sustainability, governance, cybersecurity, maintenance and business continuity.
It also incorporates Salik’s future expansion plans, allowing its systems to be upgraded to accommodate evolving requirements across existing services and upcoming mobility initiatives. The partnership ultimately aims to deliver a more seamless customer experience while supporting Dubai’s transition towards a smarter, more integrated and sustainable transport network.
